| This is another of the performing arts sections and one of the musical sections. Entrants can perform as a soloist or as part of a group and receive professional adjudication of their performance. Classes for the woodwind, strings and brass section take place during Friday and Saturday of the second week of May. We encourage as many musicians as possible to take part, and would particularly like to receive more entries from local schools and organisations, as many of our current entrants live outside Warwickshire. At the moment the bulk of our entries are made up of Recorder players and we hope this will continue to grow, but also we would like to see more players of other instruments (basically anything that isn't a piano). | | Section Secretary

The Vera Kendrick Memorial Trophy will be awarded by the adjudicator for the most promising performance in the Strings Section. (Class numbers commencing with the letter “S”).
The Ivy Davis Memorial Trophy will be awarded by the adjudicator for the most promising performance in the Recorder Section. (Class numbers commencing with the letter “R”).
The Marlow Family Trophy will be awarded by the adjudicator for the most promising performance in the Brass Section. (Class numbers commencing with the letter “B”).
The Diamond Anniversary Trophywill be awarded by the adjudicator for the most promising performance in the Woodwind Section. (Class numbers commencing with the letter “W”).
The Mrs Plester Award An awardof £50 will be given this year to the competitor who displays both skill and potential. The adjudicator will announce the winner at the close of the section |
