3. Group Numbers
Ensembles : 3-10 Players
Chamber Groups : 3-10 Players including Accompanist
Orchestras/Bands : 11-40 Players

4. Multiple Entries
a) Competitors may enter more than once in the same class EXCEPT solo classes, providing they either play a different instrument / part or piece of music.
b) Competitors may not perform the same piece in more than one class.

5. Age Limit
The age limit for all classes in this section is 1st May preceding competition. In group classes, all competitors must be within the age limit.

NB Infringement of rules 2 - 5 will result in competitors being adjudicated but not marked.

6. Official Accompanist
a) The services of the Official Accompanist are available to competitors. Competitors must indicate their requirement of this facility on their entry form. Competitors using this service will be required to pay an additional fee of £ 2.00 per class entered.

b) Where the Official Accompanist has been requested, performers in all classes are asked to ensure that all music is sent to the Section Secretary by 31st March 2010. It is strongly recommended that performers arrange at least one practice session with the Official Accompanist beforehand

7. Music
a) Set Piece performances should include all repeats. Performers of Own Choice Pieces should observe da capo and dal segno indications, and may play other repeats within the appropriate time limits.

b) Own choice titles and composers MUST be given on the Entry Form. Competitors failing to give this information will have their entry forms returned. Competitors offering a different piece to that specified on their entry form will be adjudicated but not marked, UNLESS written permission has been obtained from the Section Secretary at least two weeks before the date of the performance.

c) A copy of the “own choice” piece of music MUST be made available for the use of the Adjudicator. This may be a photocopy, which will be retained by the Section Secretary and destroyed after the competition. Competitors are reminded that they must not use photocopies for the performance unless written permission of the publisher is obtained and given to the Section Secretary.

d) The Festival is under a legal obligation to supply to the Performing Rights Society details of all items performed at the Festival, and the co-operation of teachers and competitors in sending information at the correct time would be very much appreciated.

8. Late Entries
Late entries will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances, and may not appear in the programme.

9. Changes to Programme
The timing of classes will be arranged to suit the section as a whole and not to accommodate individual performers.
No changes can be made after the programme is completed.
